Aztec Acrylic Nails from Lime Salon

If you read my recent post on my hair transformation with Lime Salon then you might want to give this one a read too! Moving away from Inverkeithing to Dunfermline - I underwent a whole new nail experience. Every month I love having acrylics done for work and since March 2017, I've been getting monthly rebalances ever since!.... I guess you could say this has become somewhat of a monthly ritual of mine and definitely something I can't live without now since having it done. Acrylics help to build strength and length in my natural nails which most of all are around the same length of the acrylics and shaped into a more oval tip to give off the appearance of longer nails.

My regular salon is Diamond Dolls in Perth and these girls do an incredible job (more to come on that soon), they always put 100% into everything they do and my nails always last the whole month before my next appointment without lifting or breakage. I can't recommend them enough and always make the effort to travel out further to have my nails done here, instead of my local village. The only issue that does come about when getting my nails done here however is time - these girls are so booked up and in demand, that time is always an issue when it comes to my appointment. At the minute I get around just under two hours to rebalance my acrylics and finish with a colour of choice.

This meaningless time for nail art and the likes - so having the opportunity to try some nail art at Lime Salon was fantastic. Nicole, my nail technician decided to go with a stunning Aztec design and I absolutely loved the outcome especially against the chocolate polish with the bright gold shimmer used.

Nicole has done a fantastic job and I even filmed the whole process if you want to take a peek at that below... I liked the change very much to my usual glitters and loved the matte effect to the polish using the nail buffing tool to buff down the shine on the polish for a matte effect. We also decided to shorten the length of my acrylics down to the natural length of my nails to build on strength and durability when it comes to my work and other household tasks that can wreak havoc on your nails. I always make sure to wear gloves at ALL times to protect my hands and nails and when I can remember - to apply cuticle oil. I've been told never OR not to use hand cream so much as apparently this can cause lifting in the acrylic and make your nails more likely to break. I've been lucky in the fact that since last March my nails have never lifted and each month I just get my usual rebalance without the need for a full set removal. I can't recommend Lime Salon more for the time and effort put into creating this work of art and it was a nice difference from my typical acrylic style. Lime Salon would definitely be my second stop for nails if travelling further out with the fantastic finish and artwork created but for now I'll be sticking to my regular salon as it's slightly closer to home (perfect for monthly appointments) and the products used actually work well with the products Lime Salon used from CND... As for my hair that's a whole other story!! Go check out my hair transformation here and let me know what you think! I'm eager to try blonde next - for going away to Florida in April and definitely going to take this up at my next appointment!

Have you ever had acrylics? If so how has your experience been? Good OR bad?

Oh! the color, I am always skeptical about the acrylic nails. I have seen many beauty influencers and videos on that. This post seems so clean and wow your nails look so PRETTY. I have never got nail art on acrylic before but I would definitely get it now. Love your blog. really some inspiration jumping on. Keep it up

    Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( https://www.instagram.com/tayo_home/ ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I wanted to subscribe to your newsletter, but I couldn’t find it. Do you have it?

Keep up the good work on your blog.
