Minimum for John Lewis

I feel so feminine and pretty in this Minimum Bardot top and find it so flattering as a light-weight summer piece to style up with literally anything you have in your wardrobe. This piece works really hard and just brings a rather casual outfit into something else with its oversized flute sleeves and pretty ruched hemline.

I adore the breathable fabric of this AND/OR Bardot Top and find it works really well with most items in my wardrobe for spring or summer. The laid back feel of this top works well for casual and occasional wear when teamed up with sandals or heels, depending on the occasion. This is such an effortless ensemble with my favourite style of the maxi skirt from Warehouse, followed by a pair of statement sandals for summer. I just love these SENSO Riley Snow Leopard sandals for summer with the minimal design and leg flattering tie up laces.

I picked this Bardot to up from John Lewis under the Minimal line which screams Scandinavian vibes. It's a beautiful piece and I would recommend sizing down if you fancy it for yourself as it is very oversized! Even in the small as the elastic band stretches out to give a relaxed fit on the shoulders. I feel the fabrics of this outfit balance out well for day and evening in midsummer as the ribbed knit maxi skirt keeps you warm whilst the top lets your skin breathe a little without it being too chilly.

Minimum Bardot Tops

This outfit can be best described as both romantic and dressy. You can really play around with colour and texture to make the outfit stand out for summer days with a pair of bright orange sandals for example, or alternatively bright sunglasses, just like the ones I've opted for from Quay Australia. I'm just feeling really relaxed as of late and going for more chilled outfits that take a couple of seconds to put together and feel this is the kind of vibe I'm heading towards now....

You really can't go wrong with a "minimum" Bardot top this season and it's so simple to style up! I would recommend if buying into this specific piece to size down! This specific top comes up rather large and I ordered the smallest size possible!. I can't comment on the rest of the minimum line but feel the sizing is slightly off and much larger than anticipated! So please do keep that in mind if your planning on buying this same piece from John Lewis or Minimum direct.

How are you styling Bardot tops this season? Do you opt for minimum styles like this piece or more bright/bold tones??

  1. I love this top and the skirt too! I’m definitely a fan of more muted tones (It might be the inner New Yorker in me…).

Thank you and me too! I think it works better for me having bright hair but I’m eyeing up some brighter pieces in reds and yellows to gradually bring more colour to my wardrobe haha! x
