Shampoos We Need to Talk About for Dry Damaged Hair

Achieve healthy hair with the new Balmain Paris Hair range! My skin and hair have been playing up as of late with the warmer weather starting to slowly creep in and I can already see this causing havoc with frequent breakouts but now my hairs starting to face the brunt of it and feeling much dryer than normal. I've tackled this using a variety of different products but thought I would share my favourites with you that I've been personally loving over the past month or soo...

This is the brand's signature shampoo packed with rich ingredients to nourish your hair back to health if it's been naughty and not feeling as hydrated as you'd like it to be.... This works really well to soften and smooth the hair making it much easy to detangle stubborn knots (perfect for long thick hair like mine) and I personally enjoy using a wide toothed comb when using this shampoo to work it into the deeper layers of the hair and penetrate even further to work as a deep treatment. If you have coloured hair (like me) you will benefit from using this shampoo too as it helps to lock in colour and even enhance the different tones to give a stunning, rich finish to your hair once dry. The leathers really good on this one which was surprising for it being sulphate free, but I would say the Balmain Paris formula is even better but this one works just as good but not as quick if you're in a hurry. With this formula you have to REALLY make sure the product is thoroughly washed out, otherwise, you will be left with flat, limp hair which I was once left with after not washing the remaining product out long enough. I've come to realise that I spend maybe just under five minutes washing out product from my hair but sometimes it's hard to judge with it being so long and thick now that it takes extra effort to wash all the product out. The scent is very delicate and perfect for spring time as it's not overwhelming but still gently uplifting.... It's most definitely a luxurious product and the packaging speaks volumes even with its minimal appeal, I just love it!.

This is the shampoo I was most excited to try out after hearing so much about these products... Alongside the ILES Formula Shampoo, I received this Balmain Paris one from The Harley Street Hair Clinic as part of a luxury haircare hamper. I wasn't disappointed anyway and I think it has to be my current favourite from the more higher priced range of products in my hair care stash as it lathers SO well... The signature ingredient of this line is Argan oil which is renowned for nourishing hair and boosting shine. I actually can't wait to get my hands on more from the Balmain haircare range now after trialling this and there sea salt texture spray which is pretty bad ass for summer coming up to get stunning beachy results and more texture in my layered hair. I'm not sure if you noticed but I mentioned this shampoo in my March favourites (Watch it below if you haven't) and I used it the night before filming and can't believe the shine and how soft it left my hair the following morning prior to filming. This specific shampoo is free from parabens and packed with hair nourishing ingredients and vitamins such as E, F and P. Again I like to use a comb with this one to make it penetrate further into the deeper layers of my hair for a treatment based finish as it works really well when used alone without the need to follow up with conditioner. I can't wait to try the Balmain Paris volume range now and absolutely adore the smell of this! It's so invigorating and just makes you feel really happy when massaging it into the scalp, and leaves you feeling great.

What I love most about this shampoo is the fact it's not from the luxury end but very budget friendly, which is perfect for all with its nourishing ingredients and affordable price point. The Natural World shampoo and conditioner duo has been a life savour for in-between washes when I want to step back from much richer formulas that can weigh the hair down when used too frequently; so I step back to this. I personally wash my hair three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and normally on a Wednesday, this is when I will opt for a more rich formula to hydrate my hair and work as a deep treatment which makes both shampoo options above brilliant for if you're looking for a pamper treatment. For the remaining two days I opt for more volumising, lighter formulas and that's where the Natural World duo comes in great as it still includes incredible ingredients that are natural and organic to really work into the hair to revive and boost shine, volume and colour. This duo is packed with certified organic ingredients to gently take care of your hair in a more natural way and leave it feeling weightless, shiny and volumized all at the same time. I find some really nourishing/richer products can leave my hair feeling heavy and weighed down but this helps to balance that out perfectly in-between washes. This duo is perfectly matched for my hair type to protect and enhance my coloured hair and give more depth to the different tones. The organic Paw Paw oil helps to boost shine it also contains vital essential oils that help aid this too, such as Lemongrass and Rosemary. The lather takes a little more woking than the products above but I can imagine this is down to the 95% natural ingredient content. The more natural a shampoo is the harder it is to lather is something I've come across with experimenting, but this is not always the case....

What's your favourite products/brand for dry, damaged hair this spring?

I’ve never tried any of these but am now very tempted! I usually use the Aussie Mega shampoo and one of their 3 Minute Miracle treatments if my hair gets dry. Another great option is the Lush Curly Wurly shampoo – so much coconut in that one, it makes you want to eat it!

  8. Iles Formula says:

Thank you Jenny for supporting Iles Formula. Our shampoo is sulfate free + paraben free and silicom free. We believe it to be one of the rare sulfate free shampoos with an abundance of lather which we create from plant juices.
    We appreciate your post.
