Three Face Masks for Blemish Prone Skin

I’m sure you will all know by now that I suffer from oily/blemish prone skin if you’re a regular reader of my blog; you could go as far to say that my skins definitely been through the worst in terms of redness, acne and deep scarring. I must admit back in my early teens I wouldn’t really take much notice of how skincare can benefit your skin and would normally remove my make-up with a wet wipe (not the best method for removing all make-up/residue) and this would have contributed to my bad skin and making my acne a whole lot worse.

Three Face Masks for Blemish Prone Skin.

However, in the present time, my skin couldn’t be better! I’ve come a long way to improving my skin and researching the best products out there to achieve blemish-free skin. Yes, I still have some slight redness and scarring on my cheeks but this can take a time to fade away and commitment. These day’s most of the blemishes I get are from stress and hormones! Since studying Beauty Therapy I’ve learned the importance of keeping your skin clean and removing every trace of makeup in the evenings to prevent long-term damage. I’ve put together my three favourite masks for blemish/acne prone skin that help to control oil production, calm redness, dry out current blemishes and leave your skin super soft.

Mask 1

GLAMGLOW Youthmud Mask

Yep, one of the best masks on the market for improving the overall texture of your skin! This is most certainly one of my favourites; it’s a little on the pricey side but oh so worth it! This mask has been created to deeply penetrate the skin to clear pores, reduce redness and leave your skin glowing. The ingredients are natural and once applied to the face you can really feel it working and tightening the skin. I love using this mask every week (normally on the weekends as a pamper treatment) as it leaves my skin looking the best it’s ever looked and the results last for days! Over time this has helped to fade my acne scarring and lighten the skin, thus removing redness.

Mask 2

Apivita Face Mask with Green Clay

This is actually a mask I picked up in Greece when travelling to Lindos! If you ever visit Greece you need to look into this brand as it’s incredible!! This was my pamper treatment brand whilst travelling Rhodes island for two weeks last year and it’s most probably where most of my Euros went. We were in Lindos town looking around the different shops, markets and stalls and we noticed this small health shop that had everything from Korres to Apivita. I’ve used Korres so much in my time and was eager to try something new so picked up lots of Apivita products to use at the hotel. This was one of my favourite masks from the range (however they had so much more!). This mask works to deeply cleanse the skin just like the GLAMGLOW Youthmud mask but with a much cheaper price tag. This mask smells amazing and dries into the skin to tighten the pores and leave it glowing once removed. It’s helped significantly with redness and just leaves my skin looking fresh, clean and deeply cleansed. This is a lovely mask for using during the week as a skin care treatment and I’m not entirely sure if you can pick this up in the UK (or online) so if you do ever visit Greece you need to try this brand out.

Mask 3

 Ultramoor Mud Mask

This is a new mask I recently picked up in the Cult Beauty Goody Bag. It is a sample size but I’ve had amazing results from using this and a little really goes a long way! I’m hoping to invest in the larger size next month once I’ve finished this sample pot to keep on me in the case of emergencies. What’s most interesting about this specific mask is the fact it contains magnesium compounds, alongside calcium. The benefits of these ingredients are outstanding and they help to heal the skin quicker alongside natural acids that gently peel the skin to renew and deeply detoxify the skin. This mask leaves my skin visibly clear, bright and glowing. The Plankton-deprived marine emergencies plump the skin and help to tighten collagen fibres all in 15 minutes to give an instant skin lifting effect. This mask is brilliant for revealing fresh, younger looking skin with its exfoliating properties and I’ve noticed it help clear up redness around my cheeks and speed up the healing process of the remaining acne I have.

So that’s all of my current favourite masks and I do have my eye on some others such as the Bliss Clay Mask as this is very similar to the ones mentioned above for helping to tighten pores, improve overall skin texture and leaving it glowing! Another one I have my eye on is the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask, this one would be perfect for use during the week with the antibacterial properties of the Manuka Honey.

What’s your favourite mask for blemish/acne prone skin (I’d love to find some new ones to try)?
