Rihanna has to be my favourite music style icons, she’s stunning, talented and most importantly creative when it comes to fashion.
Rihanna has lots of fun with her style and expresses herself in the unique form. She’ll try anything, combine anything and this is what makes her my choice for the Farfetch Apple Music Partnership competition with featured star Maxwell who helped the Farfetch creative team come up with Songs from the Shoot, one of two new playlists for Apple Music. She’s really playful when it comes to personal style and doesn’t take it too seriously, with that brings the use of tons of different bags and shoes. Here’s my take on Rihanna’s style with a mash-up of her favourite brands.
When Rihanna’s off duty she loves nothing more than a relaxed look that’s comfortable and for this reason alone I’ve gone with a classic all-black outfit and bright red lips (a staple of Rihanna’s). Her make-up is always neutral with bright lips so I’ve gone with my favourite matte lipstick from Jouer Cosmetics in shade Watermelon (Stunning pillar box red). The eyes are simple with a matte taupe brown eyeshadow from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette and copper eyeliner from Eye of Horus to make the colours pop and a slick of black mascara. I also used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Sundipped to give a dewy glow to the skin and add colour to finish the make-up off.
I’ve mixed things up a little to incorporate her favourite brands such as Alexander Wang, RayBan and Celine; Unfortunately, I don’t own a Celine handbag so went with the next best thing being my Marc B Sam grey croc tote bag in a slightly larger size to Rihanna’s Celine mini. She’s always seen in Alexander Wang as this is one of her favourite designers and Ray-Bans (she’s even mentioned this in numerous songs). I’ve styled up my classic Ray-Ban wayfarer with Alexander Wang military-inspired ankle boots from the SS15 Collection. Keeping the outfit as casual as possible I’ve also went with a short leather jacket and pinned my hair up into a high ponytail with a black choker. The figure-hugging bodycon maxi dress is similar to styles Rihanna’s been seen in off duty and she also styled hers with leather lace-up boots to show off her famous curves.
