It’s never like me to jump out of my comforts zone and try brighter shades for spring and summer but I’ve made the conscious effort to ditch the neutral muted tones and switch it up this season.
Pastels are brilliant for adding to your wardrobe to compliment neutral pieces or to colour block by mixing and matching shades like I’ve done above with the soft peach pink bodysuit from Missguided and pretty mint blue skirt from Lavish Alice. These pieces make for perfect staples this season for their versatility and easy to wear design! They go with everything and mixing these shades together gives a nice soft, romantic feel to the overall outfit. This outfit isn’t overly feminine and still keeps within the theme for a softer approach and the colours compliment each other so well. I did include a touch of black to give the outfit more character and to divert away from the all pastel approach and give the outfit a more edgy appeal. The black choker is the perfect accessory this season for playing around with and adding to low cut tops or v-neck dresses.
The sandals are a new edition to my wardrobe and make for the perfect holiday staple with the breathable Keen Uneek design that not only looks stylish but it’s super comfortable and one of my favourite pairs of flat sandals for the warmer months. The most important thing when it comes to wearing pastels is to keep the overall outfit minimal and that’s why I’ve gone with this cute mini mint blue cross body bag from Marc.b to add a nice touch of elegance to the outfit but still, keep it simple and dainty. Another accessory I’m loving at the moment is my Jetsetter jelly watch from Juicy Couture with the cute toucan design for summer. It’s mixed with a range of pretty pastels from purples, blues and pinks. You can’t really go wrong mixing pastel shades with white and black for a modern, polished look.
What’s your thoughts on the pastel trend this season?
