First Impressions with Seventeen

Seventeen is a new brand I’ve fallen in love with over the past couple of months and has to be one of my favourite high street brands alongside Sleek Make-Up for incredibly budget-friendly products. This would be my normal everyday makeup, simple eyes, bronze, contour and a nude lipstick. Everything featured in this post has been tried for the first time and my impressions of each product used. My skin was really bad at this point and my skin went through a bad break out, so I wanted to keep my makeup simple to avoid making it any worse, hope you enjoy this post!

For my base I used Nars Sheer Glow and like how natural this foundation is on my skin and how it helps treat my blemishes and not make them worse or break out my skin even more. Unfortunately I’ve missed out on photos of some of the products used such as the Seventeen Falsifyeye HD Mascara, Skin WOW Highlighter and Brows That! but I’m hoping to review these again separately very soon! So let’s get started.

Seventeen Brows That! Brow Kit – This palette comes with everything you need to create the perfect brows! The palette includes two shades to define and enhance the colour if you’re wanting a more stand out brow. It also includes a highlight to define the brow bone and increase the arch and an applicator brush. The palette’s great and the powder works perfectly with my brows to give a subtle, natural appearance. It’s easy to use and travel-friendly, I always liked the option of two different shades to add definition and create a bolder look for evening makeup.

Seventeen Contour & Conquer Contour Kit – This was one of my second favourite items from the range as it blends really well and gives a natural finish. You can use this as a bronzer and then go in to contour the face and give more shape using your brush and adding more product to give an instant glow to the skin. The highlighter works great for sweeping under the eyes and I like to use it to combat oil especially around my T-Zone for a more matte appearance.

Seventeen Skin WOW Primer/Highlight – Another firm favourite and I haven’t used a highlighter as pigmented as this one before! It’s easy to work into the skin and has a subtle shimmer to highlight certain points of the face. I normally apply this to the brow bone for added highlight and the cupids bow, bridge of the nose and my cheeks. The result, a healthy glow! It’s instant and once blended appears so natural and it’s one of my favourite highlighters at the moment for sure! You also get a lot of product and a handy pump as you only need a small amount, around the size of a pea.

Seventeen All Out Pout in Fancy-Free Lip Kit – This was one of the least favourite products from the range and something I never really liked. It actually reminds me of the first time you get into makeup and buy the large cheap makeup sets that include different shades of lipsticks and gloss and it just looks slightly tacky. This palette just wasn’t for me or something I’d use as the lipsticks were hard to apply using the small applicator brush you receive in the kit and just looked overly glossy with the mixture of satin, gloss and glitter formulas for my liking. It never lasted very long at all on the lips! It was slightly disappointing after using the rest of the products, which I deem incredible and would buy into again but certainly not this palette, unfortunately.

Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick – A definite must have if you’re new to this brand and want to try the products out! I instantly loved this and use it every day as part of my makeup routine. It makes my skin look healthy and gives a beautiful natural looking glow. It’s so easy to use and you can use it for multiple things such as contour, highlight, eyeshadow and bronzer. I mainly use this as an all over bronzer and mix the shades together using my bronzing brush for all over coverage before contouring. It’s perfect for travelling with too and I always had this with me when travelling to Greece to give my pale skin some colour during my trip.

Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara – My current go to and one of my favourite products from the brand! If you’ve been following my Instagram this is the mascara I’ve been using in all of my selfies recently as it makes my lashes so much longer and thicker. The price really blew me away for such an incredible product that I’d definitely be stocking up on more as the definition is out of this world. It lengthens the lashes and gives extreme volume without clumps! I think it’s the design of the wand/brush as it glides through my lashes effortlessly and separates them really well and stays in place for the whole day. In these photos, I never used eyelash curlers compared to my Instagram images so you might not notice the volume so well but the eye lash curlers really bring out the shape and make my eyes appear so much larger and defined.

Have you tried Seventeen Cosmetics before? What’re your thoughts?

  1. I’ve tried 3D mascara before and I didn’t think it made THAT much of a difference when compared to my tarte one. I don’t know, maybe it’s the brand I used.

I own a few of these products too. I absolutely love the brow kit, it’s insane for creating bold brows! The contour kit is ace and the highlight colour is ideal for bringing more light into the high points of your face. The shimmer brick is potentially one of my favourite things from seventeen, gorgeous palette! xx

I have the contour kit and love it! I used the highlight under my eyes too, its just not light enough on my skin tone to use as an actual highlighter
