Beauty Favourites of 2015

Can’t I actually believe the year is already gone? I mean it all happened too suddenly! This year’s favourites have changed slightly and I’ve discovered some incredible brands this past year that I’ve absolutely loved and can’t wait to try more from in the new year. You can view last years Beauty Favourites here, and hopefully, you enjoy this year’s favourites just as much.

seventeen, narssheerglow, madamelala,

First up we have the foundation, Nars Sheer Glow has been a firm cult favourite of mine and something I actually can’t live without! I swear I’ve tried other brands during 2015 but had to keep switching back to this firm favourite as other brands would break my skin out bad! Sheer Glow has to be the (I can’t live without that) foundation as it’s saved me on so many occasions.

Another favourite from last year is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette, something the Kardashians swear by and use much often. I can totally see why and I actually haven’t come across anything like it but looking to try other brands during 2016 that might top it! I just love how easy each shade is to blend and the palette comes with a good mixture of shades from highlights to bronzer. The powders can be mixed with your desired shade and blend beautifully.

This palette has now been discontinued which is unfortunate as this palette has been my go-to budget buy to the Urban Decay naked three palettes. This is the Birthday Suit palette by Seventeen, packed with eight matte, shimmer and pearl powders and three metallic creams and eye primer. It’s a beautiful everyday palette and the shades are exceptionally pigmented and last all day!

My mascara love affair has changed this year to a brand I’ve tried and loved in the past but never really went back to whilst trying newer brands but that has totally changed. The Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Extreme had to be included in last years favourites as it’s incredible!! It lengthens my lashes like nothing else has before and gives them a beautiful, bold, flirtatious finish, it’s just perfect. I think this will be a firm favourite in 2016 and a must have on mine now as it saves having to apply false lashes and gives just as good results.

When I first received the Amazing Cosmetics Concealer I was blown away by how small the tube is for the price! However with that being said this little tube goes a VERY long way. Surprisingly you only need the smallest amount and the concealer gives the best coverage I’ve come across and you have a wide variety of shades to pick from. I always opt for a shade lighter than my foundation and the formulas really thick and creamy but a dream to blend and work into the skin, it completely covers redness and I always love using it around the eye area and on blemishes I want to cover. This has received many celeb fans from the likes of Blake Lively to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and was used on one of my favourite series Gossip Girl and many other films and TV sets for its long wearing, high pigment and natural finish formula.

Speaking of eyes I’ve fallen in love with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade and wouldn’t use anything else now as it’s one of those products that’s totally hyped and you feel the urge to part with your money to try it and once you do you can totally see why it’s a cult favourite. It’s expensive but oh my does it last! I’ve had my pomade for months now and it’s barely made a dent. I love the definition this gives and how easy it is to work using my slanted eyebrow brush for a sharp, natural finish with lots of definition.

The INIKA Mineral Setting Powder is a newer edition that I haven’t stopped using since getting my hands on it! It leaves my skin really matte and keeps excess shine at bay for hours. I’ve noticed how well this has improved my skin since using it and it sets my makeup perfectly ready for eyeshadow and contouring. The thing I love most about this is the pure mineral ingredients and how it helps to treat the skin and not just mask the problem!

My favourite lipstick at the moment has been the Lord and Berry Matte Lip Pencil in Intimacy, it’s a gorgeous natural shade for every day and looks great for adding colour to the face when you don’t feel like wearing much makeup but want a fresh-faced glow.

Madame LALA Tan, this has to be one of my favourite tans at the moment and it comes in super handy during the winter months to add colour to my face as it activates instantly and lasts days before you need to reapply. It’s packed full of natural ingredients that help to hydrate the skin and leave you with a healthy, radiant finish (the perfect combination for winter). This tan has been a celeb must have with fans including Blake Lively, Rihanna and Olivia Palmero and I can totally see why with its Antioxidant Vitamin C, A and E to fight signs of ageing and boost cell renewal and promote collagen production.

I actually received the Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick to review from Boots a couple of months back and haven’t put it down since! This is a high street brand I’ve fallen in love with over the past year and definitely, my must-have favourites now which I’ve included in this post and not to mention they new Falsifeye HD Mascara. This shimmer brick is one of Michelle Keegan’s favourites too and it just leaves my skin so much healthier looking and adds the right amount of colour. It’s perfect for the winter months and the fact it gives you multi-purpose functions is another bonus to this palette as it can be used to highlight and contour and used as individual eyeshadows.

What’s been your beauty favourite of 2015?

love love love the seventeen instant glow shimmer brick, I also love the more pink shade too. I have both and tend to use the bronzing one more in the summer. They are such a great alternative to the Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks!
I really want to try the Anastasia Contour Kit, it looks great. I’ve been umming and ahhhing over getting it for so long now.

    Great round up!

  2. Gorgeous favourites lovely, I really want to try the anastasia contour kit as this sounds amazing and I love that you can mix the colours to get the perfect shade 🙂 I have to agree the dip brow pomade is amazing and don’t know where I’d be without that and my trusty brow wiz!
