Marula Oil

There’s nothing more luxurious than a gorgeous face oil with a really thick consistency that just sinks into the skin for ultimate hydration. What stands out with this oil is the fact it leaves a beautiful satin finish on the skin and it works really well on oily skin types with its anti-bacterial properties, which I was really surprised about.

WHY Do I like IT?

You can add this to your everyday moisturiser for added hydration or you could apply the oil neat on the skin which is my preferred option! The first thing you instantly notice with this oil is how much plumper it leaves your skin and how smooth it feels to touch. I normally apply this first thing in the morning and let it sit on my skin for a good hour or so before applying makeup. The benefits of this allow the oil to sink into the deeper layers of my skin and plump it up ready for my make-up base! You don’t even need to use a primer after applying this as it really is a miracle worker in that sense.

It has a very distinctive smell, very subtle and sits on the skin nicely! The scent really is refreshing and a breath of fresh air. It’s the perfect base for foundation and when applied over this oil it sits on the skin nicely whilst giving an even finish and even better it helps with acne. I haven’t been using this long enough to see a huge difference in my skin, but from the month of regular use in the mornings I have noticed this reduce redness and dry up present blemishes. The Marula oil is packed full of beneficial antioxidants and essential fatty acids that help to restore moisture and renew the skin with plumping and firming ingredients.

This oil would be an absolute godsend to those with dry skin and even more mature skin to help firm and smooth out wrinkles and prevent them in the future. This oil has been cold pressed, making it a high potency formula that really get’s into the deeper layers of the skin and even out your complexion. In all honesty, I’ve been nothing but impressed with this oil and the fact you can feel and see how well it’s working is another bonus!! The bottles also large in size and you only need the smallest amount as the thick texture covers a wide area of skin and you also receive a stopper top that gives you the exact amount of oil for more precise application.

It’s not quick drying which it states on the package but definitely more easily absorbed than other face oils I’ve used in the past. However, with that being said I have to take into consideration that my skin is oily and this could be the main reason this doesn’t absorb quick compared to someone with more normal/dry skin.

I apply this neat on the skin straight from the controlled stopper then gently massage the oil into my skin and leave it to absorb for a good hour before applying my make-up.

What’re your thoughts on the Marula Oil? Do you like face oils?

  1. I’m the same! However this worked great with my skin and actually treats acne! It’s really good but it is oily on the skin and takes awhile to dry in xx

  2. It’s really good! I do find it takes forever to dry in having oily skin so it would work more effectively for those with dry/normal skin but it still does a wonderful job and leaves my skin really healthy and glowing, and totally but I do like drying blemish treatments as I find they work harsher on my skin and that’s what I need haha! xx

    • Definitely I think this would work wonders on dry skin! It’s also great for oily skin and treating acne and that’s why I’ve been using it more so at night! It does take long to dry into my skin but that’s because it’s oily anyway! xx

Great review, I really want to check this oil out! I have oily skin as well but I like applying oils at night. Thanks for sharing Jenny 🙂

    • Thanks lovely and me too! I actually prefer applying oils at night as it gives my skin time to take the oils in, where as in the morning I have to wait at least an hour until I can apply make-up as it takes a while to dry in xx
