DUO FIBER COLLECTION BY REAL TECHNIQUES
If you’re looking for a budget friendly brush set that will make a difference then I highly recommend the duo-fiber collection by Real Techniques.
First of all, I would like to point out that I still prefer the core collection overall if I had to compare both sets! Don’t get me wrong both sets are incredible but one brush in this set did let me down on numerous occasions and for that reason alone I feel the core collection is worth more as every brush is just as good! I loved the simplicity of this set and the brushes are very soft more soft than the core collection as the bristles are less compact giving more freedom of movement but for some reason I never really liked this aspect as I personally prefer a more compact brush as it holds product a lot better especially if you used to use powders!
Made from Taklon bristles these give a really buildable coverage from light (natural) to full (made up). I normally prefer a light natural coverage when it comes to my base even with spot prone skin I just use concealer as I like my skin to breathe. It’s right when it states these brushes create soft layers and I find this very noticeable when using the large face brush as you can really build the product to give an almost barely there look, leaving you fresh faced and glowing. The brushes give you a lot of control and because they are not as compact it gives you the freedom to get an even balanced result! At first, it’s hard to get used to the face brush especially when blending as the bristles are very dense making it hard to control.
My favourite brush would be the contour brush preferably used to contour bronzer into the cheek bones to give your face a slimmer appearance but it can also be used as your primary foundation brush! I use this as my foundation brush as I feel it gives better results but these kits are supposed to be played with so really it’s up to you what brush you prefer and for what use! 🙂
The eye brush was my least favourite as I find when applying eyeshadow especially black the bristles flick the powder all over the place and ruining my foundation base 😐 so if you are to use this brush I recommend to apply eye makeup before hand and blend in. That being said the brush really picks up a good amount of product and I carefully apply along the eye lid but it can be tricky to get the hang off especially if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to apply things precisely.
