It's been a rather long break away from my little part of the web but not to worry as I'm still here but just taking a back seat for the time being to focus on family and work commitments. Yes, I've absolutely missed updating my website over the past month and will begin to do so again on a weekly basis with all my new beauty and skincare finds and my latest outfits to get you through the bitter cold in style. It's minus one right now to be exact and peering through my window as I write this I can see snow gently falling down at a pace. I'm really hoping it builds up as the hours go by for a thick and stormy layer of snow but going by what my weather app says it's supposed to rain in the evening so not the best for driving in with black ice beginning to form.....
Velvet & Suede in Winter....
Let me tell you... This velvet jacket by Whistles has to be one of the best investments I've made this winter!! It's super cosy, yet stylish. I can't stop wearing this piece and it's the perfect fit for unpredictable Scottish weather and gives a nice relaxed oversized fit when paired with straight leg jeans and light knits. These days I've been finding myself investing in simple quality pieces that go with everything else in my wardrobe but have the added bonus of more luxurious fabrics and detailing. This is my passion and something I've been focusing on more as of late to reduce waste and be more economical when it comes to my fashion choices and how I do my part for the environment.
I adore pieces that will last season after season compared to more cheaper alternatives that will only last a couple of months and these pieces are a prime example of that! The velvet jacket will work for seasons to come and it's super practical too! I love how warm it is and the silver hardware detailing down the front and to the hood. Sticking to a khaki theme I went with my favourite jeans from J Brand that work in symphony with this jacket with silver hardware to the zip and buttons.
Accessories play a vital role in my seasonal wardrobe and for winter I love getting my Saint Laurent Aviators out and feel they work really well with this outfit by matching with the gold-tone hardware of my new Aspinal of London Lottie bag, which by the way is so dreamy!! This is my first Aspinal purchase and not my last... The bag is absolutely gorgeous and very structured too, which is surprising. After falling in LOVE with this bag I then went on to request the velvet edition for my Christmas and this is slightly less structured because of the fabric and more squishy but still just as cute. I think out of both the Velvet has to be my favourite as it looks really chic and I just adore velvet at this time of year. The leather, however, is super practical and perfect for using every day but I do see this as more of an evening bag, so in all, it works really well for any occasion.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I can't wait for 2018!! Only 3 more sleeps now!..
