I've always been inspired by Military, style and different shades of khaki mixed with beige to give a really interesting vibe to my everyday outfits. Earth tones have to be one of my favourite neutrals and something I can rely on for a quick fix outfit that looks stylish and right on trend. The Military jacket is one trend that really stands out to me at the moment for Winter 17, but it hasn't satisfied me on a personal level to take up the trend myself as it doesn't really fit in with my personal style; However I'm loving the trend as a whole and different ways it's been replicated on the catwalks and in street style.
Military Inspired for Day and Evening Attire
I love the way this outfit can be transformed from casual attire to evening by switching up the chunky suede boots to a more feminine khaki suede heel, like these ones from Dune that would work exceptionally well with this outfit for evening and give a more sleek finish to the slim line trousers paired with a black or beige suede clutch bag. The whole vibe around this outfit is very relaxed and casual, but like I mentioned before you can easily transform it into chic evening attire. I don't know about you but I'm all over this trend like a rash with oversized cargo style pants in all kinds of earth tones to satisfy my neutral wardrobe. To really fit in with this trend for Spring I've paired these high-rise trousers with a boxy fit jumper in a more brighter khaki green that just bounces off the darker tones of the trousers, for a stand out effect.
Khaki on the High-Street
The high-street has really taken me by surprise with amazing minimal pieces in the most beautiful of earth tones that fit into my wardrobe effortlessly. It's a great update for Spring, moving away from black to more earth tones of beige and khaki teamed with crisp white or warmer tones of beige. I'm excited to start building up a capsule collection of khaki toned pieces and already started on my footwear with new additions to my collection, from the likes of Nike. I've also upgraded my gym wear with stand out camo print designs and a mixture of black, khaki and beige.
I'm so happy spring is here now and starting to plan out this season's picks for the best trends and pieces to fit in with my personal style. I definitely feel the time has come to peel back the layers and embrace the warmer weather, as it's gradually setting in and the winter has been so mild this year!. I recently came across a website called Love the Sales that offers huge discounts on the best designer and high-street pieces that I wanted to share with you guys to grab yourselves some huge bargains to get your Spring/Summer wardrobe right on trend. I've already started making a "small(ish)" wish list to get myself ready for the new season, and could never turn down a good designer sale when it comes to bagging the best in accessories to elevate my high-street outfits to more premium pieces.
What's your opinion on the Military trend for Winter/Spring? Are you as in love with earth tones as much as me?
