Why You Need Lotil As A Primer

Lotil has been a firm favourite of mine over the past few weeks and something I’ve been using solely as a primer and it really does work! I was hesitant as to how well this would work as a primer; it’s not currently marketed to be used this way and the cream is most often used to soften and heal the skin. With that being said this has worked wonders as an all-day primer whilst bursting with antibacterial properties to calm and treat active acne and blemishes.

Primer & Foundation

Let’s get started with the base; first up I applied the Lotil cream* all over my face and this has been really effective as a primer and instantly dries into the skin. Even better it’s helped to balance my skin out and calm redness making it perfect for applying before my foundation. Lotil has changed the way I do my make-up and the budget price makes it even better! It soothes my skin and instantly hydrates, this leaving a beautiful natural glow to my skin and gives an all over healthier appearance as you can see from the images above. It gives a gorgeous radiant and dewy look which I love whilst keeping excess oil at bay and I used the Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc on top of the Lotil primer to enhance the dewy appearance even further. Nars always gives me the best coverage as it’s medium and looks natural without it being cakey or almost unnatural looking when applied to the skin! It also stays put for the whole day, well over nine hours and more!

Blush & Contour

For blusher, I wanted a subtle pink and went with Nars Orgasm to achieve this look and really like the matte finish with a subtle hint of golden shimmer. I love how radiant this made my skin look with the Lotil primer to give a healthy glow! I worked the blusher onto the apples of my cheeks and gently blended this inwards using my Real Techniques blusher brush and then worked the Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick all over my face for more colour and a natural bronzed glow.

Brows & Mascara

I’ve been using the Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara every day and think it’s one of my most loved high-street mascaras by far! It lengthens the lashes beautifully and gives incredible separation without clumping. I filled my brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow Pomade in shade Chocolate for that natural finish.

Lipstick & Lip Pencil

I mixed MAC Brave, a gorgeous nude pink with a satin finish and the Lord and Berry Ultimate Lip Liner in shade Vintage Rose. This has been my go-to lip combination for the moment and a failsafe option for every day as it looks pretty and it’s flattering. The best thing about this combination is the fact it’s nourishing throughout the day and lasts! I also like how it compliments my complexion.

Will you be trying Lotil as your new go to the primer?

  • Your make-up looks absolutely flawless, it’s beautiful! I haven’t heard of this brand, but I do love primers, so I’m always on the look out for the next best one. I recently purchased the Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm and I have become obsessed. It helps my make-up to apply so smoothly and it actually makes everything last all day. That’s also another product that isn’t actually branded to be used as a primer. But I definitely want to check this out too, as it sounds like it will have the same effect.:D

  • I’ve never heard of this brand before, thanks so much for sharing! You know, I’ve found that often times, the products that aren’t labeled primer, often work better than those that are. Crazy, right?! I’ll have to keep an eye out for this one. I’ve just recently tried Benefit’s Pore Professional one, but I’m not all that crazy about it, thankfully I only bought the travel size. I hope you’re having a great day and start to your week so far, beautiful!

Your skin looks so nice and glowy! I’ve never actually heard of Lotil cream until now, no idea if they sell it where I live so I’ll have to keep an eye out.

  • I have never tried Lotil cream before but I really do need something that would help calm my redness down. I just wonder whether it would suit my dry skin?
