This will be a quick talk through of How I Highlight & Contour using the Clinique sculpting contour and highlight chubby sticks. These have a very nice creamy consistency that blends easily to give a natural finish. As you may all know my skin is rather pale, and these blend beautifully to give an incredible finish! It’s so natural that you could build up more coverage if you need too! I was worried about how orange toned the Clinique contour stick looked, but once blended in it looks flawless.
I normally switch between these and my Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit and really like how these are a creamier consistency compared to the normal powder formulas. The consistency makes these super easy to blend to highlight and define certain areas of your face with a natural finish. I’ve included photos above of a basic rough outline of my contour routine and the main areas I apply the contour stick/powders too, alongside the places I like to highlight.
The highlighter really is pretty with a subtle shimmer that really enhances the areas you want to highlight and give a nice dewy appearance for a healthy glow. You can use this underneath or over your make-up, but I normally prefer to it over my make-up to complete the look. This isn’t something I’d typically do everyday, even although it does provide a natural finish sometimes I just prefer to keep things simple and do enjoy going more out with my make-up at the weekends.
Once applied to the skin I will then go in with my Real Techniques Contour brush and Expert face brush to work the contour cream into my skin for a natural looking finish. After that’s blended in I will then get my Real Techniques Detailer Brush from the Core Collection to gently work the Clinique Sculpting Highlight cream in. You don’t need to get the contour perfect because this will be blended into the skin so it’s fine if you can’t get the lines perfect!
I’ve been very impressed with these chubby sticks and pleasantly surprised at how well the contour cream blends on my pale skin to give a really nice finish. The creamy formula makes these great to work with and blend easy! However I still love my powders and do find powder better for oiler skin like mine but with that being said the creamy formula does last all day on my skin and looks natural, whilst giving a healthy glow.
You can re-create this contour regime to the max, or tone it down by focusing more on the cheek bones and jawline for more defined facial features.
