If there’s one thing I like to use daily, that would be the elderflower eye gel by The Body Shop; I always like a good eye gel/eye cream to revive and refresh my eyes in the morning and before bed to really work into the thin layer of skin around the eyes.

Unperfumed Eye Gel: The Body Shop
Lucky for me I don’t suffer from puffiness around the eyes, so don’t need to worry about really advanced eye creams that meet certain needs. This is a nice light eye gel that’s used to cool and refresh the eye area, to really lift and relieve tired looking eyes. Taking care of my eyes is one of the most important things to me, so the fact I am in my twenties now it does dawn on me the importance of advanced products that really work into the under layers of the skin for optimum benefits.
I always make sure to wear sunglasses in direct sunlight and in the winter when the suns out just to prevent wrinkles and darkening of the eye area, this also prevents periocular skin cancer and general ageing of the delicate skin that surrounds the eye from overexposure to ultraviolet rays. Dehydration is one of the main causes of under-eye puffiness and this is where wearing sunglasses, and using this gel comes in great for keeping the skin hydrated and perky! This gel penetrates the epidermal layer of the skin this being the top layer and doesn’t treat or target eye issues like most “advanced” eye creams would.
It does do a good job at soothing puffiness and brightens the skin around the eye, but it works just as great as a little refresher to use in the morning straight out of the fridge. This is a great little product to maintain healthy skin around the eyes and prevent signs of ageing, the more hydrated the skin that surrounds the eye area, the younger your skin will look and it will look much more refreshed, brightened and less tired looking. The elderflower eye gel has a really nice clean, fresh smell and absorbs into the skin almost immediately for ultimate hydration and less puffy looking eyes.
If you’re looking for an advanced eye gel that targets wrinkles, dark circles, tightens the skin, protects and reduces bags, then this is NOT the eye cream for you! This eye gel does, however, help with under eye puffiness and instantly cools the skin for much brighter, revived eyes.
What’re your thoughts on this eye gel? Have you tried it yet?

I love body shop skincare and this looks like a pretty awesome product, I have noticable dark circles and just dryness in that area, this looks like it would fix the problem.

  • Okay I NEED this!

  • This sounds like an absolutely lovely product! I love any eye gels that cool the under eye area it’s so soothing! Might have to pick this up very soon 🙂

  • Jenny

I buy lots from the body shop and I would recommend an eye cream that does everything might be worth the money more as this pot is rather small but you get lots of product inside x

  • Jenny

    Thanks 🙂

  • Jenny

Aww well I’d highly recommend this and place it in the fridge before application for instant results and cooling x

  • Ok, well if this helps with under eye puffiness, I’m down. My eyes are so puffy every morning when I get up.

This is great for cooling and refreshing the under eye area but not strong enough to target wrinkles x

Great post! I actually just bought this stuff over Christmas and am like you; not totally concerned with it’s ability to target wrinkles, puffiness, dark eye, etc. I do love using this at night though. You’re right it feels great and is especially cooling. It relaxes my stressed eyes after a busy day.

    Much Love,

This is for me! Lately my eyes are red when I wake up! Thank you!!!

    • Jenny

Thanks Dora and its worth a try x

  • I’m starting to think maybe I should try an eye gel. I do like Body Shop’s products. My skin has been more dry because it’s winter and I could stand to have a more youthful look. The Body Shop Unperfumed Eye Gel sounds good.

Its very cooling and refreshing but I totally understand what you mean tbh I think it’s better investing in a good eye cream that does everything! My eyes are really troubling me at the moment as they always look so tired and washed out xx

  • It sounds like something I’d like.. I only really need some moisture and depuff!

This would definitely work for you and I highly recommend the fridge technique as it instantly cools the eyes once applied and stays cool for ages, compared to applying the gel at room temperature! x

I’ve become a little more paranoid about facial skincare as I’ve gotten older too. I can’t leave the house without sunscreen now. I’m fair in complexion so the sun is not my friend. Not just for wrinkles but it’s health in general. I don’t really use eye creams as much as I should. I use a fabulous REN eye product that brightens your eyes and makes you look awake. I can’t remember what it’s called but it’s amazing during the wee hours of the morning!

    • Jenny

I need to wear more sunscreen but never do 🙁 definitely something I hope to improve on and I actually have the REN eye cream sample at the moment and loving it! xx
