Just looking at this bottle I was worried this would look very dark on my pale skin and come up more orange toned and un-natural but I was totally wrong! This gives a natural light coverage finish to leave your skin looking very dewy.
Foundation: Sleek Bare Skin Foundation in Barley 380 c/o
When applying to the back of my hand to warm the foundation up with my fingertips before applying to the skin using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, this process helps to stop the foundation from oxidizing as much. When applied to the face it does come up slightly dark but not as dark as it looks in the bottle! I do find it oxidizes more compared to other foundations I have used giving a slight dark tint, but this could just be the mere fact my skins so pale. This foundation actually reminds me of the Nars Sheer Glow! The Sleek Foundation is much cheaper and makes the perfect alternative or dupe to the Nars Sheer Glow, mainly because it leaves your skin glowing and it looks very natural.
I did find this foundation harder to blend using the smallest amount to give a sheer finish compared to more expensive brands but this is not a huge problem, you just need more, around two-three pumps minimum. Normally I use one pump and find this is enough product to cover my face and give natural results, but I do find this foundation much thicker in consistency, that I need more to get the same results I would with other brands. All in all this makes a great alternative to Nars at a much more budget friendly price if your skins a little darker than mine this will be perfect! As you can see from the picture above it left my skin flawless and very dewy.
I have passed this foundation on to my mum because her skin tone is much darker than mine and the shade matches perfectly! She loves it and uses it daily, so this can work for all skin types and ages, you just need to pick the right shade for your skin tone. It gives a beautiful finish and it’s hydrating too, covering redness and concealing uneven skin tone and dark circles. I could definitely see myself buying this again in a lighter shade, such as White Rose as it will come in perfect for work and everyday wear.
