A couple of months back I noticed advertising on various websites promoting the new Babyliss Big Hair Styler, I was tempted to buy it as I love Babyliss products, and always get great results when using them. The main stylers I use every week from Babyliss would be my Pro 30 Piece Heated Hair Rollers (which you will see results for below) and the Babyliss Elegance 2100 Hairdryer.

Hair Styler: Babyliss Big Hair c/o
The Babyliss New Big Hair Styler is supposed to give the results of bigger fuller looking hair, but from my personal experience using this styler, I really don’t notice much volume or ‘big hair’ from using this product. I must admit it took me awhile to get used to the styler with the different functions and rotations, as it can be hard to control and get the hang of when you’re using it for the first time, as it comes with three different speed settings. After using this for the third time I could control all the settings to get the desired look I was after! Not only does this style your hair, but it also dries the hair at the same time. I find this styler perfect for adding shine and creating a nice sleek look, however it doesn’t volumise my hair at all, and this could be down to my hair being thick and heavily layered, but I was hoping for ‘mega volume’.
The styler gives slight volume at the roots but I feel it’s more suited for a sleek/straight look in my case and does give beautiful shine and a nice finish. It brings my layers and colours out more, adding definition and it’s easier to maintain as my hairs left tangle free and very sleek. If you’re buying this styler for volume it might work for you, I have noticed mixed reviews on this product and unfortunately it never worked for me volume wise, but like I mentioned above I have been a huge fan of Babyliss products over the years since my teens, and feel if you’re looking for ‘mega volume’ the Babyliss heated rollers are a god send! These really do work and give huge volume at the roots and beautifully curl the hair.
I have included images above using both stylers and I personally love volume when it comes to my own hair so will be sticking to the ‘heated rollers‘, but the ‘big hair styler’ definitely has its advantages and gives stunning results if I want a more sleek/sophisticated hair style with lots of shine and definition. My hair can be very heavy and this could be why it’s not taking well to the big hair styler, also because my hair was so thick, I had to blow dry it first before beginning the styling process, making sure it wasn’t to damp before using the styler. I think this definitely gives incredible salon results and looks like my hair would look when I walk out of the salon, but sometimes I don’t really like the salon look and find it to ‘prim’, as I normally like a messier style..
