I couldn’t wait to get this post up and can’t tell you how much I love this little kit! I used to love doing my nails every week, but stopped a year or so back because my nails used to chip all the time with the type of work I do and from general wear, but let me tell you this Red Carpet Manicure Gel Polish stays on for ages!
Red Carpet Manicure: Starter Kit With Portable Led Light c/o
This is my first ever gel manicure experience, I have never walked into a professional salon to get this treatment nor have I invested in a home gel manicure system before, until now! I wish I knew about this months ago and can’t wait to invest in other polish shades from the range and the “Pro Led Light”. This kit comes with the basic “Portable Led Light” and takes longer to cure the nails, around 1-2 minutes, however with the pro light it will only take 30-45 seconds. The pro led light does come up more expensive compared to the portable light, but it’s definitely worth the investment if you love this kit as much as I do!! The portable led light does the job beautifully, it does take longer and it’s harder to work with but it cures the nails evenly and leaves you with gorgeous shiny nails. The curing process takes between 1-2 minutes depending on the product(s) used and the stage you are at when it comes to prepping your nails for the polish. Each gel polish goes on the nail evenly and I find it much easier to work with than regular polish, it distributes nicely for the perfect finish. Before we get into the polish let’s go back to the start and go over the prepping process and how to get your nails ready for the perfect manicure!
First of all, you will begin with the “RCM Prep Liquid” Basically what this does is dry the nail plate to promote maximum adhesion of the gel product to the nail. You will then go in with your “RCM Structure Polish” a clear base coat with a thick sticky consistency that cures for 60 seconds. After prepping the nails now for the fun part, you can pick your polish shade, the set includes a classic red in shade “Reddy” (shown above), and this is the first shade I used and love how simple but elegant it is, it also contains a high shine finish, making this perfect for festive season and it makes your nails look so much longer. I received a couple of “party polish” shades from the new Red Carpet Manicure “After Party Exclusive” collection and you can buy these individually from the website. After applying your polish you will then cure this for 2 minutes, using the portable lamp included in the kit and once cured you will then apply a second coat to even the polish out and leave you with professional results. Once your nails are complete you will then finish the nails off with the “RCM Brilliance” super-shiny top coat; this gives amazing results leaving your nails very shiny, healthy and gives a stunning lacquered finish that lasts. You cure the top coat for 2 minutes and I can’t get over how shiny this leaves my nails, it has definitely converted me to gel polish over regular nail polish and I hate to admit this, but I am hooked!
Once your manicure has dried you will then use the “RCM Purify Lotion” to go over each nail and remove excess product and tackiness, you can then nourish your nails with the “RCM Revitalize” cuticle oil by placing this around the nail wall, cuticle and plate to leave your nails shiny, nourished and hydrated. Your manicure should last 2-3 weeks once cured or until your nails naturally grow out! If however, you want to change the colour or remove the polish you can use the “RCM Erase Lotion” to remove your manicure. You get a special “Remover Kit” that includes everything to easily and safely remove the product without damaging your nails, and I will include more information on this and the removal process in my next “RCM Polish Shades” post. You can select from a variety of shades and textures on the Red Carpet Manicure website from mattes, glitter, high-shine, pearl, sheer, shimmer, gloss and metallic the possibilities are endless! I can’t wait to get my hands on the other formulas and textures to try out. I have also noticed the RCM website includes pretty nail art kits to create incredible designs and play around with glitter, crystal gems, nail jewels, and the very polished, French manicure. I definitely know what I will be getting this Christmas and feel these make the perfect gift for any nail enthusiast or even if you don’t bother with nails much (like I did) this will change your views and make you almost obsessed with everything nails!!
Overall this kit is very easy to use and lasts ages! The effects are incredible and I can’t stop looking at my nails now :’) definitely excited to show you all the polish shades in my next post and tell you more about them. It has brought my excitement back for doing my nails and trying different shades and I really like how dramatic the polish shades are and the staying power!!
What’re your thoughts on this kit? Have you ever had a Gel Manicure?
