This is a review I have been meaning to do for awhile now and I can’t hold back my excitement when it comes to anything involving sweets, cake or food in general. I recently came across “The Sweet Club” in my Instagram feed and figured I would have a little nosy and see what was included in the massive selection. One thing’s for sure I was not left disappointed… In fact, I was left deciding between so many sweets that it turned from a 10-minute task into a 30-minute debate on what to get in my first box.
You get the option to select “eight sweet bags” for £7.95 for your first box, and this also includes free Postage and Packaging which would normally cost around £2.80, if not more for 1st class delivery. After selecting my eight sweet packs, I then went to order my first box by selecting the “Monthly Sweet Box” option, but you can also pick a “Fortnightly box” if you’re a major sweet tooth!
My order was complete, after submitting my card and address details, but for some reason, I felt unsatisfied and craving for more, so off I went back to the website to order more…. This can be addictive so be warned!! 😉 After selecting another eight packets, I was then convinced I should order a box for my family/partner, so in the end, I ordered four boxes overflowing with yummy sweets, and they make such excellent gifts. You can choose between Boiled, Gummy Sweets, Soft Candy, Jelly Belly Beans and Chocolate, Fudge with a mixture of Retro sweets and more uncommon selections of US Candy and Liquorice.
The best thing about this service is the fact you can cancel at anytime, this meaning you don’t have to commit to the contract and order a box whenever you feel peckish and in need of a sweet fix 😉 I have decided to keep my monthly box and find the price very good for a number of sweets you receive and the service provided! Your sweets also come with pretty tissue paper to protect everything inside the box and it also makes for a nice gift option. You can have the sweet boxes sent directly to your house or to family/friends for a surprise gift!
As for the taste of these sweets, they taste true to each individual sweet/brand and completely takes me back to my childhood, with a deep love for penny mixes and chews. The taste is exactly the same but I have noticed a slight change in the dolly mixtures but nothing significant! I have not tried the US sweet range yet and not sure if I will as it’s not really my thing, but I do want to try the different Jelly Belly mixed selection packs 🙂
What’s your thoughts on this service and would you consider yourself a huge sweet fan?
