ILLAMASQUA HIGHLIGHTER GLEAM IN AURORA

This most definitely has to be the best highlighter I have ever used!!
The thing I love most about this highlighter is the fact it has a thick creamy consistency and melts into the skin beautifully, in return giving great results and a natural shimmer that highlights the cheek bone, brow bone and cupids bow.

Gleam in Aurora Highlighter, Illamasqua – Β£14.00

The highlighter has a gorgeous light champagne shade, that makes it more than easy to blend into the skin, to give a beautiful illuminating finish that looks natural. I would say this fits perfectly for more oilier skin types compared to liquid forms, and blends nicely with the skin either below foundation or on top for more impact.Β

I always use highlighter above my cheek bones to give a more sculpted look, down the centre of my nose for a slimming effect and right in the dip of my cupids bow for the effect of fuller/bigger lips. My most favourite place to use highlighter would be around my eyes and brow bone to enhance my eyebrows and make my eyes appear fuller and brighter. The case the product comes in is very compact and perfect to just slip in your handbag with the slim design and sleek black outer casing.Β

I will be buying this again and love the formula as its easier to apply and blends nicely with the Real Techniques Contour Brush. The lustrous pearlescent pigments in this product really are pretty and help enhance your face shape, to give a more sculpted look, that just lifts and highlights in all the right places, with gorgeous light-reflecting technology. I have had this for over six months now, and still have a good amount of product left to last at least another six months!! This is most definitely a product I will be buying again and it’s the best I have used yet, but I am hoping to try other brands and compare πŸ™‚

Have you tried the Illamasqua Gleam Highlighter yet?

  • Cream highlighters don’t work so well with me because I have rather oily skin, however I’m half tempted to give this a try because it sounds and looks rather lovely! Nice review! xx

  • This highlighter looks amazing. Great review! I’ve been using Benefit’s highlighter, if you haven’t tried it yet it’s pretty good and you could compare the two. I’ll have to pick this one up because it looks like a grade shade for my skin tone πŸ™‚ -Jenn

  • I use a matte highlighting shade and so glimmery ones always seem horrendously menacing to me, having said that I can imagine this would give skin a really nice sheen in the Winter. I might have to step out of my comfort zone!
