THE BODY SHOP CAMOMILE MAKE-UP REMOVER

When it comes to eye make-up removers this had to top them all, I say “had” because this is no longer the case, and I feel very disappointed with this product lately. The formula changed for this make-up remover around January and I find it doesn’t perform as well as the old product. It’s much harder to remove eye make-up and I find it has a very unusual strong smell, and it’s not very pleasant, if I am completely honest!!
camomile, make-upremover, thebodyshop, krystelcouture, beauty,

The camomile make-up remover comes in great for sensitive eyes, because it contains natural ingredients that help hydrate the eye area when removing make-up. The ingredients have changed drastically, making this product much harder to remove eye make-up, whereas before the formula could more than easily remove the most stubborn of eye make-up, including water proof mascara. The price of this make-up remover has always been expensive and I used to stock up in the sales, however this will not be the case any more as I find the quality much poorer to the original, as it takes around three attempts to remove my make-up with this new formula :'(
Β
Back in January I noticed straight away something was different with this remover, and I got around 4 bottles in the Christmas Sales to last months as I just loved the original make-up remover and it had no smell what so ever, and removed make-up with minimal effort. I am now stuck with these bottles and still have two unopened, so I will have to use these up before finding a new make-up remover πŸ™
Have you used this and noticed a difference in the formula? Do you have any good make-up remover brands/products you could recommend?

I used to love it too!! it’s a shame when they change a formula that worked perfectly fine to something worse πŸ™ x

I never knew The Body Shop has this product! The packaging looks so cute, and it’s so sad to hear that it didn’t deliver. It’s such a shame when companies change products and ingredients — why ‘fix’ something that isn’t broken?

    • Jenny

They have has it for years now and I just wish they kept the old formula xx

  • You are definitely not the only one who noticed! I had gotten a sample of it last year and loved it, then recently used my friends that she just got and it was not the same. Such a bummer!

Thanks so much πŸ™‚ really happy someone else has noticed this also!! it smells really bad πŸ™ x

  • That’s such a shame I would definitely have considered Body Shop for make up remover than any other brand, oh dear. Thanks for the heads up though!

I just hate when brands change ingredients of perfectly good products! I don’t know why do they do that… I’d recommend you to try Melvita Bio Expert cleansing milk for sensitive skin or Garnier 2in1 (or 3in1) make up remover (and obviously something something :D) – in a blue packaing with a pump. I seriously can’t believe that Garnier is able to do such a gentle product that works perfectly πŸ˜€

Ohh same tbh this is the first time I have experienced a change in any products I constantly use so it was a huge blow when I noticed the difference especially the smell!! I will have to give these a try, thanks so much for sharing πŸ™‚ x

  • It’s a shame they changed the formula! the original formula sounds amazing

Hate it when formulas change….same thing happened with No7 concealer :((

Lancome Bi-Facil is an amazing eye make-up remover if you haven’t tried it :))

    • Jenny

It really is πŸ™ and I have never tried that before xx

  • wow, the whole essence is for it to be better. So taking a longer time that I really don’t have is not cool.

    • Jenny

Its not normally you would expect it to work straight away, especially for the price xx

  • Building The Confidence

That really sucks. I have never really tried that brand but if you want a cheap alternative you could always use olive oil. It may take a little long to wash off the oil, but it does leave your skin super soft and refreshed.

Thanks so much for this suggestion πŸ™‚ I love olive oil so I will definitely have to try this xx

  • Instant Milk

I love camomile everything! This looks really good and gentle!

    xx

    • Jenny

      Thanks x

  • I use the lip & eye makeup remover from L’oreal. It says lip & eye but I use it all over my face and its completely fine. It’s a water-oil formula so you have to shake it up before you use it and adore it! Its a clear plastic bottle and the liquid is blue! Try it out.

That’s so disappointing!! I wonder if they’ll ever go back to the old formula. I used to use this as well so thanks for the heads up about the change! x
