Recently we’ve been having some pretty ammaazzing weather, and I couldn’t be happier as it’s great to get away from the rain and enjoy some much needed sunshine, however this was short lived as we are back to the usual doom and gloom 😛 At least I managed to get a slight tan over the past few days, so I’m not complaining too much 🙂 Because the weather was so nice, me and my partner decided to go for a nice relaxing picnic in the country side to catch up and eat lots of yummy food!!

Being a huge coffee addict, I just love Iced Emmi Caffe Latte it has to be one of the best instant coffees on the go!! I always buy these for work, as they come reasonably priced and it’s not too sweet compared to other brands. I like how you can reseal the lid and they are incredibly milky, you can also get a variety of different flavours, but I especially love the cappuccino one, as I find the flavour really rich and very refreshing. The Caffe Latte also includes Arabica coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified Farms and other natural ingredients such as coco powder, semi-skimmed milk. I always drink the new Coco Cafe Latte and Vita Coco natural coconut water drinks, as I find them very refreshing and full of flavour, especially on warmer days (Try Vita Coco Lemonade, it’s incredible!!).
We decided to grab a mini selection of cheese, and my favourite is the Wensleydale and Cranberry, I think it makes the perfect match for crackers, and it just melts in your mouth at the same time with juicy cranberry’s throughout. Kyle loves the cheddar and garlic but it can be slightly overpowering, but again very creamy, and nice in small doses. I also love to add plum tomatoes on top of my crackers, as I find them very juicy and they add so much flavour and a nice crunchy texture against the softness of the cheese. After crackers we each had a selection of rolls with various fillings from egg mayonnaise to Yorkshire ham from the deli, and these make great nutritious options for quick lunches or picnics.
For sweets I made some scones with whipped cream, jam and fresh strawberries, creating the perfect summer desert, and these also go just as great with a nice cup of tea 😉 It was a difficult decision between cream scones or Eton mess, but I find cream scones much easier to travel with and store away. I noticed these ginger cookies in Tesco when getting a few other bits and pieces and just loved the sound of them, as I like anything with ginger as its very spicy, yet sweet. The all butter ginger cookies taste like heaven, and have a soft gooey centre covered in dark chocolate!!
Speaking of dark chocolate, when I was at the Company Blog Awards last month we all received a massive goody bag and inside was this mini Kallo Dark Chocolate Organic Rice Cakes, and I just loved them!! So I decided to try the full Milk Chocolate version, and they really do make a great naughty treat 😉 but still healthy off course! Especially with the dark chocolate version, which I feel tastes more better, as it packs more flavour and nutrition. Another pretty naughty indulgence of mine is the chocolate caramel squares, I just find these so addictive!!
I hope your all having a great weekend, and liked this post as it’s something a little different, and I hope to get more lifestyle/foodie posts up soon 🙂
